Ceramic fiber cloth manufacturing process

Ceramic fiber cloth manufacturing process is the same with normal cotton cloth manufacturing process. As the ceramic fiber yarn is thicker compared with the cotton yarn. So the weaving machine for ceramic fiber cloth looks very heavy and working slowly. But only this kind of weaving machine could be used to produce the ceramic fiber cloth.

First of all, the ceramic fiber cloth is weaved from ceramic fiber yarn. We have talked about the manufacturing process of ceramic fiber yarn in the other blog article. In fact, we used the spinning ceramic fiber yarn which should meet the national standard. The spinning yarns are placed on the warping frame as picture showed below. Then we thread the ceramic fiber yarn through the reed eye and install the reed on the loom. After setting up the weave of the ceramic fiber cloth, and checking the ceramic fiber yarns in the reed are all correct, we could start machine to weave ceramic fiber cloth.

Normally we will use 450~1150 yarns to weave a ceramic fiber cloth. This should be based on the tex of the yarn and the thickness of the cloth. For example, we could use 550x2 Tex yarn to weave the cloth in 2mm thickness. And 1000x2 Tex yarn to weave the cloth in 3mm thickness. This could keep the warp & weft density, the width and the weight of ceramic fiber cloth.

During the manufacturing, there are some broken ends and floating thread on the cloth. They make the ceramic fiber cloth looks very chaos. Although the weaver could cut and remove these threads during weaving, but there may be some miss on the ceramic fiber cloth. So after weaving from machine, we usually have the workers to check and clean these threads on the cloth. And after cleaning from workers, there are inspectors sampling the cloths to each lot of orders. If the inspectors found any thread in the sample, all the cloths of this lot will be re-checked by the last step. Of course, the thread inspection is only one item for inspector to judge the cloth’s quality. This management could keep the cloth quality control strongly enough.

Because our salesperson is bargaining the price with our customers, but we all know that the quality could not be bargained any time.
