The ceramic fiber textiles industry has always attracted me

I have been in the high-temperature textile industry for nearly 15 years, which is equivalent to the time from primary school to university graduation. I thought I knew the industry well, but recently I was refreshed by another incident.
Things have to start at the end of August this year. We received an enquiry from a European customer at the end of August, and it was clear that they wanted ceramic fiber square packing. And the packing should be very hard and hard, which means that the density should be very high. This is a regular product for us.
Before quotation, we made the first sample for the customer. But considering that if the packing is made too hard, it will be difficult to wind and pack like a long stick, so we only controlled the density to around 680. As a result, the customer was not satisfied.
After that, we provided our customers with a second sample, with the highest hardness of 730. Of course, packing with this hardness will increase the cost in winding, packaging and transportation. The second time the customer received the sample was in mid-October, telling us that they were satisfied with the hardness, but needed further testing. Let us wait patiently for the result.
We waited until the beginning of November before contacting customers. The customer's response is that the hardness and quality of our packing meet their requirements. But the pattern was wrong, so we didn't choose our product in the end.
To be honest, for the first time in the 15 years since I have been in the industry, I know that customers also have requirements for the pattern of packing. After all, ceramic fiber packing is used to seal the high temperature furnace. We have always believed that the packing material, density and outer packaging are the most important.
But that’s okay, our hard-working technicians are making machine improvements according to the customer’s request. The latest product should be made within this week.
From my own point of view, I am very grateful to the customer this time, even if I did not successfully cooperate with them. This time the customer's requirements once again let me know that there are still areas in this industry that I have not mastered. This is far more important than an order.
This is where the ceramic fiber industry has always attracted me. Seemingly ordinary products, there will always be unknown parts waiting for our efforts to explore.
At the same time, all the samples we give to customers are free. And will always stick to it.
