How many types of heat treated ceramic fiber cloths?
Based on the organic fiber in the ceramic fiber cloth, there are 3 types of heat treated cloths.
They are viscose, polyester and Polypropylene fiber.
Based on the organic fiber content after heat treated, there are 2 types of heat treated cloths.
Before heat treated, there are about 18%~20% organic fiber in the ceramic fiber cloths. After light heat treated, the organic fiber content has decreased to about 10%, the cloth’s color is yellow. After heavy heat treated, the organic fiber content has decreased to about 3%, the cloth’s color is grey or black.
We can supply all types of them above, the common types is viscose fiber after heavy heat treated.
Why is there a lot of dust on the heat treated ceramic fiber cloth?
Because the organic fiber is polyester.
The dust on the heat treated ceramic fiber cloths comes from incomplete combustion of polyester.
But it is cheaper than use viscose as organic fiber. So, we normally supply viscose type of heat treated ceramic fiber cloths to our customers.
Will the heat treated cloth smoke and catch fire when used?
The cloth will smoke when used, the smoke comes from residual organic fibers. But for the heavy heat treated ceramic fiber cloths, it will not catch fire.
If used viscose as organic fiber, the ceramic fiber cloth will not produce a pungent odor. But if used polyester, the ceramic fiber cloth will have pungent odor, this also comes from the polyester.
